USA Vs Poland

We went to a great soccer game.  193

The USA played Poland.  It was at Soldier Field.  It was cool to go there for the first time.

We went with our friends Jason and Rachel.

We even bought matching shirts.  How Junior High can you get??  We had to get shirts supporting the USA because the fans from Poland definitely outnumbered us.  I heard a lot of words yelled that I don’t care to be heard yelled again.  It was an exciting game.  The US even scored first.  It ended in a tie.

The best part of the game for me was that it stayed in the 70’s all night.  Sports are sooo much better when you aren’t freezing!!!

Weekend In Michigan

We went and spent conference weekend in Lansing.  It was sooo fun to see and play with Tennyson.

013   We went to the Cider Mill and had some cider and really yummy doughnuts.  There is nothing better than Cider Mill doughnuts.  018  020 019 021 024

Notice Josh’s stuffed mouth in the background.

As you can tell from the sweatshirts it was a cold, rainy day.  We had to stop by Mike’s Law school to look around so we took advantage of getting new sweatshirts to stay warm.

We also went to the farmers market.  Eddie was in Seventh Heaven!!  He found his favorite treat….cheese curds.

014

The kids even made butter.  We took some cute pictures of the kids, but by time we were done we were running to the car it was so cold.

On Sunday our great friends the Boegler’s came to enjoy Eddie’s cooking and to meet Tennyson for the first time.

Heather spent awhile bragging about how her big earrings would be great for Tennyson because if he yanked them they would pop right off.

Labor Day Weekend

Nichelle, Mike and Tennyson came to visit us for the long weekend.  On Friday night we had a wonderful roast dinner.  It was Shaylin’s last night before returning to BYU I so she picked out her last meal.  We played her favorite family game, Killer Bunnies.  She left for the airport early on Saturday morning.  I took Nichelle and Mike to our favorite small town restaurant, Egg Harbor Cafe.It is one of our favorites for special occasions like having visitors in town. They have all kinds of special breakfast and lunch items that you will not find anywhere else.

That afternoon we went to Naperville’s Last Fling.  We walked around some stupid little booths, ate some junky food (Yum) and walked around the Naperville Settlement.

The kids got to paint on a car.  They thought that was pretty cool.

At the petting zoo this hen decided she liked me.  Every time I moved she would find my foot and curl up by it.  I think the animals were coming to me for protection from all the little fingers poking them.

He was very artistic!!!

That night we ate Chicago style Pizza.  Our stomach’s were very full after all of the days activities.  On Sunday we went to church.  I got to show off Tennyson.  We had a steak dinner and Hot Fudge Brownie Sundaes with the Saunders Hot Fudge that they bought me for my birthday.  We spent a lot of hours over the weekend playing with Tennyson and trying to make him laugh.

Perspective on another Birthday

Time puts things in proper perspective.
~Cameron Crowe

I went to downtown Chicago and saw the city from a variety of views.

Sometimes we see things distorted.

And sometimes we just want to jump.

So during this 47th year of life I will try to keep things in perspective.
