On Sunday in Aruba we decided to take a nice little walk along the beach down to this little shopping district. It was a beautiful walk….until we missed the entrance to the store area and kept walking…and walking…and walking. It probably would not have been so bad if we had our swimsuits on so we could get more than our feet wet. It probably also would not have been so bad if it wasn’t almost a hundred degrees. It probably also would not have been so bad if we had known where we were going and had turned around before we went 6 miles. We finally made it to a Wendy’s for a well needed drink…because, oh yeah. we did not bring any water either!!
We did find some pretty trees along the way.
We also came across a lava beach.
These smiles are actually because those are the “pokiest” rocks that we are sitting on and we are trying not to yell “OUCH!”
At least on the way back we were a little smarter. We stayed off the beach and flagged down the first cab to drive us back to the hotel. It was then time to relax on the balcony for awhile.
On the last day Eddie gave his speech and became a honorary Kentucky Colonel.
The rest of the day was spent on rafts floating in the ocean. What a perfect trip!!!
